Erie Events enters a Concessionaire and Event Agreement with the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority at Liberty Park
Erie Events is poised to start overseeing the popular 8 Great Tuesdays summer concert series and other events that annually take place on the city’s west bayfront.
The Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority’s board of directors has signed off on an agreement that allows Erie Events to start overseeing the popular 8 Great Tuesdays summer concert series and other events that annually take place on the city’s waterfront.
The agreement — which the Erie County Convention Center Authority’s board of directors signed off on in November 2024 — was approved by the Port Authority’s board Wednesday.
The Port Authority owns Liberty Park, Dobbins Landing and various other waterfront locations and has managed events on its properties for years. But the authority is launching into what’s known as a concessionaire and event agreement with Erie Events.
The agreement stipulates that Erie Events will become responsible for booking and managing various events on Port Authority-owned properties starting in 2025 and extending at least through the summer of 2026.
Erie Events manages the Bayfront Convention Center, Warner Theatre, Erie Insurance Arena and UPMC Park and has expertise in event planning/execution.
