PA Gov. Shapiro Announces Funding for Market House project on Erie's Bayfront
Governor Josh Shapiro announced a $9.5 million investment to support the development of the Bayfront Market House, a transformative project led by Erie Events.
The Market House will be a one-of-a-kind destination along Erie’s waterfront- a year-round hub for local produce, artisan goods, and freshly prepared foods. The Market House will offer a unique and authentic experience for residents and visitors alike. The Market House will be based of a smaller version of the iconic Reading Terminal Marketing in Philadelphia, PA.
The market is expected to include indoor & outdoor space for vendors as well as a performance & event space for musicians and other artists.
This funding marks a major step forward in revitalizing our waterfront and creating new economic opportunities for our community. The awarded $9.5 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant that will complete the funding needed for the $14 million project.
